| Overview | sLowlife is a dynamic multi-media exhibition that presents plants as complex, living beings. Time-lapse movies show plants as they sense and respond to their environment. The gallery-style presentation includes photographs of remarkable plants, original sound compositions based on plant movements, concise text, and live plant material. |
| Credit Line | sLowlife is a collaborative project of the United States Botanic Garden, the Chicago Botanic Garden and Roger Hangarter, Indiana University. Original sounds by John Gibson, Indiana University. Additional support was provided by Indiana University, the National Science Foundation, and the American Society of Plant Biologists. |
| Space Requirements | Minimum of 1,600 square feet; plus 400 square feet for crate storage. |
| Rental | $15,000. Includes files to produce a 16-page companion guide to the exhibition; digital file to produce study guide for grades 6-12; media kit; link to the sLowlife website; two staff for five days (three days to setup and two days to takedown); plant seeds. |
| Shipping | Venue responsible for one-way shipping. Insurance is included in the rental fee. |

| Staffing | Attendant required for daily a/v start-up and shut-down, and gallery walkthroughs; an individual capable of growing, installing, and maintaining plants; and a technician (on call) for electronics. Installatiorequires three able-bodied preparators for five days (three days for set-up; two days for tear-down). |
